Key Tasks *

Mission

G-NIC Engineer will be responsible for performing Network implementation (including integration) work at G-NIC Centre. This includes day to day Network Integration activity for customer's network elements. The G-NIC centre will provide centralized remote implementation support for NI deployment projects Globally. This role will report to G-NIC Team Leaders.

Responsibility :

 

Main G-NIC duties-

-          Perform remote configuration expansions for 2G & 3G sites

-          Perform New Site Integrations and new builds on 2G and 3G sites

-          Perform Re-homes, Swaps and activations for 2G and 3G sites

-          Perform Site parameter modifications

-          Edge creation

-          Update E-PM  with Integration milestones

G-NIC Activities

-          Ensure G-NIC support activities are completed according to planned data till Place site in maintenance mode.

-          Lock sites ready for CM work

-          Generate upgrade files using CM tools for upgrades

-          Create XML plans in OSS using CM plan manager and Import XML files to OSS

-          Down load plans and create communication settings etc. if needed

-          Run comparison files and check data

-          Define external alarms for new Integrations  and  Alarm checks and trouble shooting

-          Adjacency creation and loading

-          Remove sites from Maintenance mode and unlock sites for final Integration / test calls

-          Monitor test calls per site if required

-          Audit logs created from upgrade and Define maintenance regions

-          Update G-NIC tracker and tools to ensure accurate reporting showing actual timestamps

-          Check voice messages and return calls to field technicians

Construction Works Manager

  Job description:   BSS/RAN implementation quality, cost and timely rollout volume commitments in zone.

- Manages all construction works and BSS/RAN implementation activities and teams in a zone. Ensures CW/Implementation activities and quality meet project requirements and targets.

- Review and approve Site specific drawings (site lay out + equipment installation drawings).

- Management and performance follow up of service supplier teams (CW and TI). Prepares together with cost and progress engineer purchase orders for site works to service suppliers.

- Co-ordinates site design and construction works site deployment activities with SA and TI teams in zone.

- Follow and report the work progress related to time schedule and Quality to zone manager and escalate the deviations.

- Main skills : Strong Civil Engineering, Customer relationship management/  Planning Reporting and Processes / Sub-Contracting Management /Cost, Profitability and Risk Management

Job description:  Responsible for the timely completion of all equipment ordering in cooperation with the Logistics Department, Installation, Commissioning and Unit Acceptance responsibilities. Responsible for a site from Ready for Installation status to the issuance of the Final Acceptance Certificate

 

Controls the Implementation process according to the defined time schedule.

Establishes an organizational structure for the Installation & Commissioning department.

Interfaces with the O&M Department to establish all technical standards and determine handover protocols between departments.

Interfaces with the Logistics Manager to verify the standard site components and assess availability of all materials.

 

Defines the Scope of Work & job description for all positions in the Installation & Commissioning department.

-           Working on daily maintenance checks along with monitoring

2.         OSS SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities:            Manage NetACt OSS platform in Network Operations Centre, .Develop and implement processes to manage OSS platform.

Key Responsibility Areas

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Network Management systems used in the operation and maintenance of the network

Responsible for the Security in the NMS, NEs and the issuance of User ID and password to all O&M personnel.

Manage OSS platform in Operations Centre. Develop and implement processes to manage OSS platform.

Upon receipt of the proper forms, assign and input new users to the network.

Remove users when informed by Management.

Monitor access to the Network Management Systems to ensure access capability is not compromised.

Perform all Preventative Maintenance routines identified in the System Administrator's Procedure

Support the O&M organization in developing required tools in the NMS database for ad-hoc reporting requests

Review Capacity and load periodically to ensure adequate capacity is available.

Support the use of NMS features by developing the procedures required to utilise the NMS system features.

Monitor User response time to ensure user satisfaction.

Implement Hardware expansion and Software upgrades for the NMS Systems

Monitor DCN performance and equipment and refer or fix problems as they occur.

Recommend DCN expansion to meet network expansion Plans.

Keep backup copies of OSS Systems for Emergencies.

standardise views and parameter settings in the NMS environment.

Share tools developed with other areas in order to prevent duplication of work efforts.

Maintain a daily logbook recording system changes, faults and other issues that may affect performance. All activities related to System Maintenance and change must be entered in logbook for future reference.

Control data flow from the network to the Network Management System and plan the corrections and extensions to the Network Management System Platform accordingly

Prepare action plans for future software and hardware upgrades in the NetAct

Co-operate with other Network Operation Centre personnel in trouble and emergency situations

Train other Network Operation Centre personnel in the use of the NetAct and its features.

Requirements:            At least two year's extensive experience in the NSN Network Management System (NetAct OSS 4.2/5.1 ),

Hands-on expert level experience in different databases and UNIX platforms Experience on other telco NMS 's an added advantage
