Job Description – Senior Operations Engineer

Job Title         Senior Operations Engineer
Education       B.E. / B.Tech/ MCA or equivalent
Experience     3 – 5 yrs
Location         Malaysia

The Job would involve the following aspects:

Responsible for OnMobile product & platform support across multiple
customers. Single point of contact for all operational/technical
issues.
Will be responsible to guide, mentor and train the junior operation
engineers in the team.
Would have to gain in-depth operational knowledge of OnMobile products
and diagnose/fix most of the issues and complaints with minimal
support from the Product team.
Will be responsible for system deployment, Integration testing and UAT
for the new product deployments.
Should be hands on for all the day to day operational activities
(Process adherence & incident reports, security updates, Backup,
Reporting, Release management, Testing, CDR, reconciliation).
Requirements gathering and communication to stakeholders


Brief requirement is as follows


Working knowledge of telecom/GSM concepts and good understanding of
solutions/products in telecom space.
Should have been involved in System Integration projects with telecom
operators.  Hands-on experience is a must.
In depth knowledge of Windows and Linux OS or worked as system
administrator on the same platform for 1 year+.
Experience in Database, backup, Product Support, Production
Support/Application Support



Technical / Functional:
·         Good understanding of telecom/GSM concepts and
solutions/products in telecom space.
·         Good knowledge of Windows and Linux OS or worked as system
administrator for 1 year.
·         Basic knowledge of ‘Networking’ with hands on experience in
IP routing, switch configuration, Firewall configuration. CCNA/CCNP
would be a added advantage.
·         Experience in Database, backup, Product Support, Production
Support/Application Support
·         Exposure to VAS industry would be an added advantage
·         Telecom domain experience with a VAS provider or operator.
·         Linux clustering, SAN, VPN/VLAN configuration skills
·         Linux security and directory service

Soft Skills:

Good communication skills.
·         Good problem solving skills
·         Team Handling Skills


Certifications: CCNA/MCP/MCSE or RHCE
